As a company, GumGum prides itself on being a place where employees never forget just how valuable they are to our core mission. That’s why we offer them unlimited vacation, scrumptious office snacks and highly accessible managers who are always willing to hear their concerns.
But for many employees, even these perks pale in comparison to our annual offsite retreat. Each year, we bring together GumGummers from all over the world for a paid vacation that allows them to reconnect with one another and learn more about where GumGum is going. This year’s trip took 200 of us to Las Vegas earlier this month for a week of team bonding and desert fun. That’s more than double the 80 employees who came with us to a Wyoming dude ranch two years ago, a growth surge that helped inspire the theme for our Galactic All Hands retreat. Indeed, this year’s event was attended by employees from our Sydney, London, Germany, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles offices.
Highlights of the trip included accommodations and team meetings at the beautiful Cosmopolitan hotel and trips to some of the city’s finest restaurants and bars, including Beauty & Essex and Commonwealth. Our more adventurous eaters even made a trip to the newly opened Taco Bell Cantina, the brand’s only location with a VIP lounge, a DJ and frozen alcoholic slushies. When we weren’t eating, drinking or sleeping, we sleuthed our way through a downtown scavenger hunt, enjoyed live music as we hit the alleys at Brooklyn Bowl and kicked up dust while racing dune buggies in the desert. And once we were all worn out, some of us found our way to the luxurious VIP pool at Marquee Day Club.
Needless to say, a good time was had by all. But if you don’t believe us, you can check out the photos below:
